The 2022 Iowa General Assembly focused a lot of attention on the workforce challenges facing healthcare providers – particularly rural providers. As part of IARHC’s Health Equity Training Series, plan to join as we host Amy Campbell of the Advocacy Cooperative as she provides an overview of workforce and other healthcare legislation passed and signed into law this year.

With so much workforce legislation, this webinar may be of interest to your Human Resources staff and others tasked with understanding loan repayment programs, licensing requirements and other changes made.

IARHC Health Equity Training Series: Unlocking Brain Fitness: Keys to Dementia Prevention (KEYS)

Dementia is in the top five causes of death in Iowa; it devastates the patient, as well as their families and friends.  There is no cure for dementia and the few treatments that are available only work for a few months.  However, it is estimated that 40% of all dementias can be prevented and that an individual can reduce their risk of getting dementia by up to 70%. 

Dr. Patricia Quinlisk gives an overview of dementia, its risk factors, and explain how dementia prevention works. This presentation is ideal for clinical providers, managers, and administrators.




IARHC Health Equity Training Series: Amerigroup Digital Solutions Telehealth Kiosk Initiative
June 30, 2022

This program deploys iPads with translation capability to community organizations supporting our members, to enhance member access to telehealth services while decreasing barriers to health care in the community, and increase health equity by enabling services to be delivered in a language-appropriate and culturally appropriate way. Applications loaded on the iPad include Live Health On-Line Bright Heart Solutions behavioral health services, LiveHealth On-line primary care and some specialty health services, MyAmerigroup.com, FindHelp.org (Aunt Bertha Community Resource Link), Zoom or Teams and LanguageLine audio-visual translation services.
